The TNPSC Examination Board conducts the Group 4 Examination annually to fill the vacant posts of Village Administrative Officer (VAO), Junior Assistant, Bill Collector, Grade-I, Field Surveyor, Draftsman, Typist, and Steno-Typist. The TNPSC examination department has set the minimum educational qualification for this Group 4 job as 10th pass.
All the examinations conducted by the TNPSC examination department have been conducted in offline mode so far, including the Group 4 examinations. After the written test, the document verification will be conducted by the examination department only for those who have passed the written test. Currently, according to the notification published by the TNPSC examination department, there are a total of 7000 vacancies. These vacancies include typist, land surveyor, stenographer, etc. The total details regarding the vacancies are given in detail in the table below.
Online applications are invited from eligible and willing candidates from 30th March 2022 in the recent notification issued by the TNPSC Examination Department. The last date to apply online is 28th April 2022. However, candidates are requested to register their TNPSC Group 4 applications before the last date, as there may be problems such as computer malfunction or slow speed on the last date. Online applications for the TNPSC exam can be applied only on the official website of the TNPSC exam department; therefore, candidates should not waste their time visiting other websites. Candidates must have appeared once to apply for the TNPSC exam. At present, only those who have registered once can apply for the exam. A one-time registration fee of Rs 150 is charged, which is valid for five years. A username and password will be provided after the one-time registration, which can be used for five years. To apply for the TNPSC Group 4 exam, only a fee of Rs 100 is required as the exam fee. The facility of payment of the application fee for the Group 4 Examination through Net Banking, Credit Card, or Debit Card has been established before the stipulated deadline.
The application fee for the TNPSC exam is waived for certain categories, such as Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Persons with Disabilities, and Destitute Widows. Those who have served in the Indian Army are given two free chances, and the majority communities, such as the Backward Classes and the Most Backward Classes, are given three free opportunities.
Candidates must have passed at least the 10th standard to apply for TNPSC exams. Group 4 category jobs have different educational qualifications and age limits for each job, so educational qualifications for all jobs are given in the table below clearly and in detail.
Candidates for the TNPSC Group 4 examination must have completed the Certificate Course in Office Automation, which is a certificate course offered by the Tamil Nadu Department of Technical Education, as a minimum educational qualification.
The TNPSC exam will be held from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM for a total of three hours, awarding a total of 300 marks. A minimum score of 90 marks is required to pass this exam, with 200 questions asked in an objective format. Part A will consist of General Tamil questions, which must be answered in Tamil only. Part B will consist of questions such as General Knowledge and aptitude, which can be answered in Tamil or English. The TNPSC Examination Department has released a new notification with job vacancies and salary details, which are provided in detail in the table below.
You are provided with the facility of selecting an exam center while applying for the exam online. Generally, you are given the option to choose two exam centers near you. The TNPSC exam department will allocate you an exam center out of the two exam centers. There is currently no facility to change the examination center after filling out the application. The TNPSC Group 4 Exam Answer Key will be released on the official website of TNPSC a few days after the exam. You can estimate your score by using the answer key, allowing you to calculate whether you need to prepare for the next exam or not. If your marks are close to the cut-off marks of last year's exam, then you can progress to the next level.
Usually, the TNPSC Exam Department releases the exam results within a few months of releasing the Group 4 exam answer key. After the release of the answer key for the exam, candidates are given time to raise any objections to the answers. The examination department will release the examination results after ensuring that there are no objections from the candidates.
If you qualify for the written test of the TNPSC and have the required cut-off marks, you will be called for the next stage of document verification. If you cannot confirm the authenticity of your documents, you will not be considered eligible for the job and will be rejected by the TNPSC exam department. Candidates who pass the eligibility verification will be issued appointment orders and allotted government jobs.
